Many new features can be enabled with Veeva CRM 23. This document provides a brief explanation of each new feature and updates to existing features. Complete documentation for these features is available on October 31st on the home page of the Veeva Systems Customer Support Portal at:

Summary

Veeva CRM 23 brings major improvements across the full suite of applications, providing enhancements that optimize user experience and maximize productivity.

Key enhancements include:

  • Multichannel Cycle Plans – Provides the ability to track activities across all channels for their target list, improving guidance for field users by better illustrating which activities to execute on at the right time.
  • Enhanced Survey Publishing – Adds an improved publishing experience, allowing for more granular assignment rules and more insight into publishing progress, helps solve many problems for survey administrators.
  • Internal Surveys – When creating a Survey, a new type of User Survey is now available allowing survey targets to include field users.
  • Survey Overlays for CLM – Surveys can now be accessed from CLM presentations as an overlay.
  • Multiple CLM Improvements – Added portrait mode for PDFs, tracking activity before account selection, CLM consent and anonymous tracking, improved diagnostics and much more.
  • Customizing Approved Email – Added Rich Text support and filtering on Attachment list to make it easier for Medical users to utilize the power of Approved Email.
  • Windows 8 – Added Account Timeline, Offline Validation Rules, GPS Stamping, Inventory Monitoring Photo Capture and much more.
  • Order Management and Inventory Monitoring - Continuous Inventory Monitoring and Account Partner selection on Orders make the life of a pharmacy-based field rep much easier.
  • CoBrowse – You are now able to present a CoBrowse session directly from an iPad.
  • Account Timeline - Now includes more activities on the timeline including key messages and thumbnails of each slide shown during a call.

Detailed instructions are available later in this document for settings required to fully enable all new features in Veeva CRM 23.

User Visible and Behavior Changes

Most new features are delivered disabled by default; however users are able to view the following features immediately:

    When the ENABLE_SAMPLE_DISTRIBUTED_BY_SIG setting is enabled, the “Distributor” value is now populated on Call Sample and Sample Transaction for Samples. The stamped value is retrieved from the User.Company field. If Group Emails is enabled, a new Organization section displays in the AE Wizard Market Share in Top Accounts is enabled by default unless the TOP_ACCTS_COLS Veeva Setting is enabled If exposed, the Territory_vod field on the Sent_Email_vod page layout displays When a Contract is selected on an IM record , and the Contract has Targets defined, the IM Lines display with color coding so users can easily see what Targets have been met For Continuous Inventory Monitoring, the new Clear button is available to users whether the Continuous Inventory Monitoring setting is enabled or not. The clear option displays on the IM pages and removes all products and corresponding values from the IM Lines when the buttons is tapped. If utilizing the Vault – CLM integration, when the Obsolete State is defined, the Non-Steady State CLM is no longer downloaded to the iPad in the NSS CRM environment The Options -> Media tab has an additional column for Media File Name and Status (if FLS is granted), and values for Total Media Count and Total Media SizeWhen paging through CLM content, the thumbnails may initially display as white images but are replaced with the thumbnail images as they load from top to bottom The Media File update link is no longer visible on Key_Message_vod records if the CDN_Path_vod field is populated The Size column on the Options -> Media tab displays values from the Media File Size field on the Key MessageIf the Timeline is enabled for Call, and VMOCs for Multichannel_Activity_vod and Multichannel_Activity_line_vod objects are marked as active, notifications for CoBrowse displayCall Reports on the Timeline display thumbnail images of CLM content displayed during the Call If configured, related presentations in the Engage Player sort by Display Order then alphabetically by Presentation NameUsers who have edit permissions to the Last_Scheduler_Account_List_vod field can view the last view or account list used on the call scheduler when they navigate back to it If the new field Sent_Email_vod.Call2_vod is added to the page layout, the lookup to the Call that initiated the Sent Email displays When capturing Orders, if a total order limit is triggered, a warning displays until the limit is satisfied If the device is configured appropriately, files from the Documents tab display in portrait mode when the orientation of the device changes
  • After each Approved Email process completes, the integration user, Veeva support, and a configurable list of email addresses receives status and failure alert emails. A new section in the process scheduler has been created to facilitate configuration of the recipient list.
  • When creating Survey questions, red boxes no longer display around required fields prior to entering a value
  • If the currency field is on any page layout it always displays as a required field on iPad. This is to replicate Salesforce behavior.

    Related Lists can now display more than four columns. Users must have Read permission to the object as well as FLS to the fields in order for them to display.

What's New in Veeva CRM 23

The following changes are available to all licensed users of a given product. Instructions to configure these options are discussed in each topic and in the Veeva CRM product documentation, which is available on the support portal beginning February 20, 2015.
