Introduction to Veeva CRM V27

Many new features can be enabled with Veeva CRM 27. This document provides a brief explanation of each new feature and updates to existing features.

Veeva CRM 27 brings major improvements across the full suite of applications, providing enhancements to optimize user experience and maximize productivity.

Detailed instructions for settings required to fully enable all new features in Veeva CRM 27 are available later in this document.

Core CRM

  • Advanced Coaching – Now supports the creation and usage of Advanced Coaching in the browser making it easier for those users primarily using that interface.
  • Surveys through Email – Allows Surveys to be delivered via Approved Email so those being surveyed can respond to the survey any time they wish through a web browser on desktop or mobile devices.
  • GPS Check-in for Calls – When enabled, allows users to check-in to an HCO or HCP and track that all calls that occurred until checkout, occurred at the same location by recording GPS.
  • Network Integration Speed Improvements – Searching and aligning new or existing Accounts from Network to CRM has seen a close to 50% improvement in performance.
  • Field Reporting – Allows customers to create their own reports using the Veeva JavaScript Library and HTML delivered directly to reps in the field using Veeva CRM.
  • Timeline Improvements – Support for future month activities, more control of Approved Email views, and visibility of new activity types, publications and clinical trials.
  • Order Assortments – Allows the control of grouping and ordering of products for strategic presentation of products.
  • Price book support for Wholesalers – Price Books tied to specific Wholesalers allowing for the adjustment of pricing and discounts based upon a selected Wholesaler during the order process.
  • Contract Negotiation from Call Objectives – Allows for the easier execution of the Contract Negotiation process by beginning the process directly from a Call Objective.
  • Multichannel Cycle Plan (MCCP) Improvements – Users are now able to easily view goals across targets as well as provide feedback about future goals. Additionally, MCCP now supports a new channel, Events, where inviting HCPs to Events counts toward channel goals.

Windows

  • Sphere of Influence – Sphere of influence capabilities have been improved to match the latest functionality available on iPad.
  • Account Hierarchy - Additional Account Hierarchy functionality is now available on Windows Tablet platforms.
  • Suggested Retail Price - Windows Tablet users can now view a Product’s suggested retail price and calculate profit based on quantity and discounts.
  • Advanced Coaching – Allows the advanced coaching functionalities on Windows Tablet.

Content

  • Consent Capture – Consent Disclaimers can now contain links to outside web resources that display in a browser. Consent transactions that only contain opt-outs can be configured so signatures are not required. The signature screen can be locked so the HCP can sign without the risk of seeing private information.
  • Tracking Improvements – To enhance open tracking, when CRM detects a click activity, an open activity is inferred. Clicks on Email Fragments are now tracked independently from clicks on an Email Template.
  • Approved Email Content Editing – Content creators can design, edit, and deploy email templates using a visual drag-&-drop email designer in Vault v15. This allows internal and external content creators to create content without knowing HTML.
  • Search for CLM – Allows for easier retrieval of specific CLM content using search terms. This is especially useful for cases where the user has a large CLM Library.
  • CLM JavaScript Library – Content creators can now query many records and fields from an object as well as querying from custom objects.

Veeva Medical

  • KOL Profiles – New model for creating KOL profiles with complete control over how they are laid out and how they look. 
  • Medical Discussions for Interaction Reporting - Medical users are now able to gather key data and information for multiple discussion types on the same Interaction Report, including product information, plans, tactics, and event information.

Key Account Management

  • Task Management – Allows for the easier creation and assignment of tasks related to the execution of an Account Plan such as Tactics and Call Objectives.

Events Management

  • Attendee Hub – Provides more information, improved search capabilities, and a streamlined interface to allow for more efficient ways to manage Event Attendees.
  • SFDC Approval Flow Support – Allows for standard SFDC Approval Flows to be incorporated into the event approval process.
  • Attachment support for Event Materials – Allows users in the field to capture images related to the Event and attach them directly to the Event for documentation purposes.

User Visible and Behavior Changes

Most new features are delivered disabled by default; however users are able to view the following features immediately:

  • Accounts
  • In Sphere of Influence(SOI) and Account Hierarchy on Windows Tablet, Action buttons including View Account, Launch Media, New Call, and New Order (only applies to SOI)display for the Account in focus
  • The Launch Media and Record a Call buttons are now available in Account Hierarchy on Windows Tablet, for parent and child Accounts. The Make Primary button is available for parent Accounts.
  • Call Report
  • Attachments display as a related list and can be edited in view mode
  • Key Message text wraps under the check box on the Call Report
  • The Call Date / Time fields are now three different fields on the Call Report
  • Multichannel Cycle Plans
  • The Goal Edit Connected UI contains a new filter button. Also, users can edit goal fields in line.
  • When a user filters for a specific Channel in the My Plans Target tab on the iPad, the Product filter now provides an option for “All Products.”
  • Events Management
  • Filters on the following lookup fields can now be manually removed, allowing records to be saved even if the selected lookup value becomes ineligible before the event is closed:
  • Speaker_vod field on the EM_Event_Speaker_vod object – Requires speakers to have a status of Eligible_vod
  • Venue_vod field on the EM_Event_vod object – Requires venues to have a status of Eligible_vod
  • Medical
  • The Go Online menu item is now available for the iPad Medical App. Selecting this option displays Veeva CRM online or any external URL. For more information, see Go Online.
  • Order Management
  • Numeric types now format with thousands separator when in view mode
  • Users can view signed and activated Contracts on the iPad
  • Users can view signed and activated Agreements on the iPad platform. This functionality allows iPad users to review Contract details while they are in the field.
  • Users can select the Signed or Activated link on the Contract Partners related list or from the Contract Partners Detail screen to view a Contract on the Contract Signature Summary screen.
  • Other
  • Process notification emails sent from the "Alerts/Status Report Administration" section of the Veeva Process Scheduler page no longer include the Veeva Support email address by default

Account Hierarchy

Additional Account Hierarchy functionality is now available on Windows Tablet platforms. This includes:

Selecting Record Types for Calls

Windows Tablet users are now able to select the appropriate Record Type for a Call created from CLM. See Selecting Record Types for Calls for more information.

Email Receipts for Signature Transactions

Windows users now have the ability to capture a signature and provide HCPs with a receipt of a transaction, including an image of the signature and a pre-built table of the transaction line items within the body of the email. See Email Receipts for Signature Transactions for more information.

Suggested Retail Price

Windows Tablet users can now view a Product’s suggested retail price and calculate profit based on quantity and discounts. See Suggested Retail Price for more information.

Medical Inquiries – Creating Calls

Users are now able to create a Call from a Medical Inquiry on Windows Tablet platforms. See Creating Calls from a Medical Inquiry for more information.
