Progress towards Event attendance goals can be calculated so customers can define and indicate team-based goals for a target. Event channels can be based on the Events Management or Medical Event module.
Only team-based goals are supported for Events as a Channel.
Individual and team goals at the product level for an event-based channel are not supported.
For example, Sarah Jones’s account Dr. Clinton Ackerman needs to attend two Events in this sales cycle. Once an Event-based channel is created, Sarah sees the attendance records for Dr. Ackerman that fall within the cycle’s start and end dates and count toward the goal. She contacts Dr. Ackerman to schedule more events so he meets the goal.
Configuring Events as a Channel
Prerequisites
Ensure the Team-Based Goals feature is enabled.
Ensure initial configuration is complete before enabling this functionality.

MCCP admins can enable this feature when using the Event_Attendee_vod picklist value as the Channel_Object_vod field value on the MC_Cycle_Channel_vod object.

This feature is automatically enabled for end users if the Team-Based Goals feature is enabled.
Using Events as a Channel
To define team goals with Events as a channel, use the Team_Channel_Activity_Goal_vod field and optionally, the Team_Channel_Activity_Max_vod field on the MC_Cycle_Plan_Channel_vod object.
- MCCP admins can define an Event channel based on the Medical Events and/or the Events Management module
When defining the Event channel criteria, remember the Events Management module creates stub records in Medical Events objects. Double counting may occur unless the channel criteria definition is configured to account for the stub records.
- Event channels based on the Medical Events module can have channel criteria defined based on fields from the Event_Attendee_vod and Medical_Event_vod objects
- Event channels based on the Events Management module can have their channel criteria defined based on fields from the EM_Attendee_vod and EM_Events_vod objects
- Users can view the team progress towards Event attendance goals for their targets
The MCCP MCE process determines whether an Event falls within the cycle start and end date based on the Event’s start date. For Events Management, the Event's start date is the Start_Time_vod value. For Medical Events, the Event's start date is the Start_Time_vod or Start_Date_vod value.
- Users can view the team attainment for each Event channel at the plan level
