When individual user goals are deemed too granular, Veeva CRM allows admins to set team-based goals. Team-based goals allow admins to set goals for an entire account team or for entire territories.
When setting team-based goals for a target, a team is any territory aligned to that target. The territory does not need to have an MCCP to be included as part of the team. The filtering criteria when defining a Cycle Channel can help refine the team definition. The same channel filtering criteria is used for both the individual territory and team calculations.
For example, Sarah Jones is a member of the Restolar team in Territory 101. She and her teammates can view the goals set for the entire team.

When team-based goals are enabled, the MCCP Multichannel Engine process calculates the team-based progress metrics. As with the individual territory calculations, team calculations ignore MC_Cycle_Plan_Target_vod.Status_vod = Merged_vod records. In addition, a toggle displays in the “Status” and “Targets” tabs of the My Plan menu (iPad) for end users to switch between viewing the individual territory metrics and team metrics.
Configuring Team-Based Goals
To enable team-based goals, provide access to the following permission set based on the MCCP user type:
Use a clone of these permission sets for testing/production. The definition of the Veeva-delivered permission set is versioned over time.
- MCCP End User – MCCP_TEAMCALC_END_USER_VOD permission set
- MCCP Integration User – MCCP_TEAMCALC_INTEGRATION_USER_VOD permission set
- MCCP Administrator – MCCP_TEAMCALC_ ADMIN_USER_VOD permission set
To enable switching between individual territory and team metrics at the target level on the Targets tab of the My Plan menu on the iPad, only the individual territory metric fields need to be configured on the MC_Cycle_Plan_Target_vod related list on the MC_Cycle_Plan_vod page layout. The switch, when set to display the team metrics, displays the equivalent team metric for the configured individual territory metric field. If team metric fields are configured on the MC_Cycle_Plan_Target_vod related list on the MC_Cycle_Plan_vod page layout, those fields are not displayed on the Targets tab on the iPad.
To enable stickiness of the of the switch position, grant end users FLS edit permission to the MCCP_Activity_Type_Switch_vod field on the Preferences_vod object.
