Introduction to Veeva CRM V28

Many new features can be enabled with Veeva CRM 28. This document provides a brief explanation of each new feature and updates to existing features.

Veeva CRM 28 brings major improvements across the full suite of applications, providing enhancements to optimize user experience and maximize productivity.

Detailed instructions for settings required to fully enable all new features in Veeva CRM 28 are available later in this document.

  • Engage Meetings – Schedule and launch remote meetings directly from Veeva CRM utilizing voice/video and compliant content already available on the offline device
  • Veeva Now - iPhone – A new, separate app for field users to access relevant Veeva CRM information from their iPhone. The first version enables customers to push real-time alerts to field users.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Integration – Connects Veeva CRM with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, importing marketing activities so field users get a complete view of all interactions with an account
  • Territory Feedback – Surfacing future territory alignments so field users can review the alignments and provide feedback directly from Veeva CRM
  • Core CRM
  • Cold Chain Sampling – End-to-end Sample Management support for hand-carried samples requiring refrigeration. Additional controls include tag alert numbers and status that can also be captured.
  • Offline Filtered Lookups – Salesforce lookup filter configurations are now supported on iPad and Windows Tablet
  • Custom Account Name on Call Signature – Configure the signature page to display other attributes to ensure users are capturing the signature for the correct HCP
  • Dependent Call Objectives – Gives Key Account Managers the flexibility to define the order in which Call Objectives need to be completed
  • Order Delivery Splitting by Account Partner – Support for delivering a single order to multiple account partner locations
  • Min/Max Support for Percentage Free Goods – Ability to refine ranges, quantity caps, or limit user overrides when utilizing Percentage Free Good rules
  • On Demand License Updates from Network – Quickly check if an updated license is available from OpenData, or update license information directly from the Call Report
  • Multi-Channel
  • Content Types for Consent Capture – Capture consent based on broader topics instead of using the product and channel attributes 
  • Personalized Subject – Bring personalization to Approved Email subject lines by utilizing attributes from Veeva CRM
  • Selecting email addresses in Approved Email – Uses Approved Email wizard instead of the default email client when users select an email address
  • Optionally Suppress Native Navigation for CLM - Hide the thumbnail navigation drawer control when using deep content or content with built-in navigation
  • Windows
  • Single Sign On Support – The ability for users to sign on to Veeva CRM using their company’s single-sign-on provider is now available on Windows Tablet platforms
  • List Scheduler – One-click scheduling is now available on Windows Tablet
  • Sample Opt-In – Support for having an HCP opt-in to receive samples for a specified amount of time is now available on Windows Tablet.
  • Disclaimer by Country a Language – The ability to display consent and disclaimer text based on an HCP’s country and preferred language is now available on Windows Tablet
  • KOL Profile Online - Create KOL profiles with complete control over the look and feel. KOL profiles can now be utilized from Veeva CRM online.
  • Preserve PPT Links in Presentations – When converting PowerPoint content to CLM presentations, links are now supported to allow jumping from one slide to another

User Visible and Behavior Changes

Most new features are delivered disabled by default; however users are able to view the following features immediately:

  • Call Reporting
  • Users can now add up to 100 Attendees to a Call
  • Call Scheduling
  • Calls display on the iPad schedule based on the Owner Id of the Call instead of Created By
  • Approved Email
  • Only company products (those with the Company Product check box selected in the Product Catalog) display in the Consent Capture screen
  • Events Management
  • The Vault Integration sections no longer display on the Events Management Configuration Console
  • On the iPad and Windows Tablet platforms, the Lookup field selection displays as a modal window
  • On Windows Tablet, the Lookup modal window is now 100% in height
  • Previously, if a print invitation template had tokens for event speakers or event sessions, or if a sign in sheet template had tokens for event speakers and attendees, and there was no data in those tables (e.g. the template displays a list of attendees but there are no attendees), then the system would allow the form to generate, but the output would contain the token. Now, if the object referenced by the token has no data, the user will receive an error instead of the output form.
  • When completing attendee reconciliation, the warning message indicating all non-reconciled attendees are dismissed no longer displays if all attendees are reconciled
  • If the Signature_Datetime_vod field is configured as a column on the Attendee Related list, then sign/clear buttons display to capture signatures
  • Closed Loop Marketing
  • When iPad users open CLM’s slide sorter, the current slide displays with an orange border so users can identify their place in the presentation
  • Network
  • When a user edits a record in CRM Online without a Network vid, the DCR is cancelled and an error message displays
  • DCRs on unverified records are no longer rejected by Veeva Network; they are queued in Network for the data steward process
  • MCCP
  • On iPad, in the filter window on the Targets and Edit Goals tab, the values for the Channel and Product picklist filters sort alphabetically
