Introduction to Veeva CRM V25

Many new features can be enabled with Veeva CRM 25. This document provides a brief explanation of each new feature and updates to existing features.

Summary

Veeva CRM 25 brings major improvements across the full suite of applications, providing enhancements that optimize user experience and maximize productivity.

Key enhancements include:

  • Suggestions and Next Best Action – Data science engines from 3rd parties can now be connected to Veeva CRM to drive the actions of the field force, guiding them towards the next best actions for their targets.
  • Veeva Medical – A new Medical specific application is being delivered with medical specific language, UI, and functionality; built from the ground up to work with Veeva KOL Data and other data sources.
  • Core CRM –
  • Coaching Surveys – Bringing the power of the Survey module to the process of Field Force Coaching.
  • Account and User Identifier support for Call Attendees – Clearly identify each of the attendees of a Call with identifier support.
  • Windows 8/10 –
  • Account Overviews, Homepage Alerts, Order Delivery Splitting
  • Order Management API – Veeva now supports our Order Management functionality as a service. This allows customers to leverage Order Management through portals or other custom applications giving tremendous flexibility to customers.
  • Multi-Channel Cycle Plans (MCCP) with Call Scheduling and Team Support – Reps can now use cycle plan information to determine which calls should be scheduled from within the Call Scheduler. MCCP now supports the ability for multiple field resources to count activity against team based goals on an Account.
  • Multi-Channel –
  • Consent Capture – Approved Email and CLM channels now support granular product opt-in and opt-out as well as custom consent channels customers can define, including multi-country and multi-language disclaimers.
  • CLM – “Save for Later” now supports associating saved content with pre-scheduled Calls, as well as making it easier to test staged and approved content published from Vault.
  • Vault Content Publishing to CRM – After loading and reviewing content in Vault, users can now publish directly to CRM.
  • Full order support through CLM – Users can now manage and place orders directly from CLM, taking advantage of all the order functionality through CLM.

  • Engage/CoBrowse – Sharing of PDF documents with many pages, custom navigation through Gotoslide(), and shared media assets for images and CSS that can be shared within a presentation.
  • Approved Email – New multi-document Vault Viewer and easier navigation when an email contains multiple email fragments.

Detailed instructions are available later in this document for settings required to fully enable all new features in Veeva CRM 25.

User Visible and Behavior Changes

Most new features are delivered disabled by default; however users are able to view the following features immediately:

  • If both Account Attendees and User Attendees are added to a Call Report, the Attendee types are divided by a horizontal line. This feature is available on the Windows Tablet platforms.
  • Account Overview panels are disabled by default. This feature is available on the Windows Tablet platforms.
  • For Network customers, if a field is defined as DCR Editable or DCR Editable Required in the DCR Field Type, and it is Read-Only on the page layout, with Visible FLS, the field is editable via the DCR process. This feature is available on the Windows Tablet platforms.
  • A mini Order Header now displays on the Order overlay in CLM. This feature is available on the iPad platform.
  • An information icon displays in the Order lines allowing users to access the Product Details tab. This feature is available on the iPad platform.
  • The first letter in email addresses on the Manage Email Addresses screen is no longer capitalized by default. This feature is available on the iPad platform.
  • The Send to Scheduler button now displays in the My Plan > Targets tab’s Action tray for MCCP users. This feature is available on the iPad platform.
  • If the --ded section signal is added to the page layout section that contains the zvod_CLMDetails_vod__c field and is also assigned to the user’s profile and call record type, delete icons no longer display for Key Messages on the Call Report, preventing users from accidentally deleting Call Key Messages. This feature is available on the iPad platform.
  • MCCP users can now take advantage of advanced filtering. This feature is available on the iPad platform.
  • In the MCCP My Plan menu on the iPad, the horizontal progress bar at the top of each tab now displays the real-time progress of the cycle.

  • If FLS is provided to users for team metric fields, the My/Team activity toggle displays in the Status and Targets tabs of the My Plan menu on the iPad. Users can also filter by team metrics. This feature is available on the Online and iPad platforms.
  • The Engage GotoSlide feature allows users to jump within and across presentations. This feature is available for the iPad and Windows Tablet platforms.
  • If a value exists in a Person Account’s Account Identifier field and the user has FLS to the field, that value displays below the Account Name in a Call Report’s Attendees section. This feature is available on the Online, iPad, and Windows Tablet platforms.
  • If a value exists in a Contact’s Account Name field, the value displays below the Contact Name in a Call Report’s Attendees section. This feature is available on the Online, iPad, and Windows Tablet platforms.
  • If a value exists in the User Identifier field and the user has FLS to the field, the value displays on a Call Report’s Attendees section next to the User Name and also next to the User Name in the Attendees’ search window. This feature is available on the Online, iPad, and Windows Tablet platforms.
  • All platforms now display numbers in numerical order next to Survey Questions in a Survey.
  • In the MCCP My Plan menu on the iPad, the horizontal progress bar at the top of each tab now displays the real time progress of the cycle.
