What's New in 21R1.0

The CRM 21R1.0 major release includes several new features as well as User Visible and Behavior Changes.

Our release notes offer brief, high-level descriptions of enhancements and new features. Configuration is available by selecting the feature name. You can also find a quick overview of 21R1.0 Feature Enablement and Availability information in this release note.

New Fields and New Objects are also included.

Features

General

User Interface Enhancements

The Veeva CRM iOS and Windows Tablet user interface is now updated to support multiple device sizes, deliver an optimal experience on devices with Retina displays, and improve interface accessibility:

  • Icons - Icons are updated with higher image resolution for Retina displays. Icon functionality remains the same.

    For example, the following icons are updated throughout the Veeva CRM application:

  • User Interface Enhancements - The Classic tab on the Sunrise bar is relabeled on the Home, My Accounts, Account detail, and Account Plan detail pages

  • Sunrise Bar Enhancements - Updates to the Sunrise bar improve efficiency and navigation (iOS only)

CLM 

Using the China CDN for Multichannel Content

To improve load times and overall performance for multichannel content, Veeva Vault can replicate multichannel content (including multichannel slide documents) to a local, China-hosted content delivery network (CDN) for Veeva CRM users in China. Admins can control which documents are replicated to the China CDN.

Engage Meeting

CRM Users Attending an Engage Meeting (Available April 8, 2021)

Engage hosts can invite CRM user attendees to Engage meetings. When CRM users, for example, managers, MSLs, or users on shared accounts, are unable to meet face to face, they can still collaborate via remote meetings with HCPs.

Events Management

Joining a Virtual Event via Zoom

Hosts of a virtual event can now offer attendees the option of joining an event via their Zoom application. Providing attendees this option helps maintain the compliant hosting capabilities of a virtual event while also providing the attendee the choice of joining the event via their preferred application.

Event Expense Limit Rules

This item has been removed from the release as part of 211.0.201 on April 9, 2021.

Event Expense Limit rules enable admins to set up guidelines and policies surrounding expense limits. Automating this process results in greater compliance by preventing event organizers from adding estimated and actual expenses to an event based on these restrictions.

Medical Inquiries

Lightning for Medical Inquiry

Lightning for Medical Inquiry is now automatically available for all Lightning-enabled orgs. Lightning for Medical Inquiry provides the following benefits:

  • Improved user experience
  • Faster page loading
  • Improved List View
  • Salesforce files now supported
  • Salesforce Lightning components replace Visualforce pages

MyInsights

MyInsights Studio (Available April 8, 2021)

MyInsights Studio is a web application allowing content creators to create interactive and custom pages for end users while adhering to company standards and branding. Content creators do not need to know how to write code. They can use MyInsights Studio to create pages for MyInsights content without relying on developers and can deploy the pages directly to Veeva CRM.

User Visible and Behavior Changes

Most new features require some configuration, however users are able to view the following changes immediately.

General

  • iPad, iPhone, Windows: The Classic tab on the Sunrise bar is now relabeled on the following pages: 
  • Overview – Home page
  • List – My Accounts page

  • Detail – Account and Account Plan detail pages

    Tab display varies depending on user platform and existing configuration.

Account Management

  • iPad, iPhone, Online, Windows: Dynamic Attributes can now be created with a multi-select picklist data type. This data type allows users to capture multiple values for a single field. See Dynamic Attributes for Accounts for more information.

Approved Notes

  • Online: Monitoring for duplicate Approved Notes violations ensures that text violating a monitoring rule is only flagged once for free-text fields inherited from a parent call. Duplicate violations are not flagged on the related child calls. See Reviewing Approved Notes Monitoring Results for more information.

Engage Meeting

  • iPad, Online: Users can schedule a remote meeting if there is at least one CRM user attendee or group call attendee. The remote meeting information panel of the Online call report has a fixed height and is scrollable. See CRM Users Attending an Engage Meeting for more information.
  • Android, Online, Windows: Emojis in the Engage Meeting Experience Rating and Remote Signature screens now match the style of the platform. See Using the Engage Experience Rating for more information. (Added 03/24/2021) 

Events Management

  • iPad, Online: When the {{addToCalendar}} token is added to an email template sent to Event Speakers, the value of the Webinar_Panelist_URL_vod field of the EM_Event_Speaker_vod record is now added to the Description field of the ICS file.
