Announcements

Lightning Ready

In 21R3, all Veeva customer orgs which are not already upgraded will be upgraded to be Lightning-ready. This does not automatically enable Lightning for users but converts Veeva functionality to be Lightning compatible. See Schedule of Lightning Upgrades for more information.

To prepare for additional platform availability, platform names in CRM Help are updated as follows:

Auto-Publishing CLM Content from Vault

We updated the name Single-Doc Publishing to Auto-Publishing for CLM content to more accurately reflect the functionality, which automatically publishes CLM content from Vault to CRM.

Features

The 21R3.0 release includes features from the following minor releases:

General

Digital Rep Lightning Business App (Previously Primary Care Sales App, available December 16, 2021)

The Digital Rep Lightning Business App (previously the Primary Care Sales App) enables field users to quickly view and manage their daily activities, as well as view performance metrics and company notifications. The Digital Rep App provides quick and easy access to the following information to help users stay aware of and focused on their core objectives:

  • Daily calls, account activity, time-off-territory, and upcoming events to plan daily activities
  • Actionable insights, notifications, reports, and cycle plans to understand past interactions and improve future performance

Approved Email

Approved Email Tokens in Email Fragments and Template Fragments

To enhance both flexibility and reusability of Approved Email content, content creators can add several Approved Email tokens to email fragments and template fragments.

See the 21R3.0 Functionality Guide for a complete list of newly available tokens.

Call Reporting

Auto-Populating the Call Channel

Admins can configure the value in the Veeva standard Call_Channel_vod field to auto-populate based on customers’ own call channel fields. This enables customers to ensure downstream systems are not affected by the switch to a standard Call_Channel_vod field and minimize disruptions to user workflows.

CLM

Supporting queryRecord for CLM Content on CRM Desktop (Available December 16, 2021)

Content creators can use the queryRecord JavaScript function in CLM content on the CRM Desktop (Windows) platform to access and display online CRM data directly in a CLM presentation. To load and view content using the queryRecord function, users must have an active internet connection. For performance reasons, there are some restrictions when using the function on the CRM Desktop (Windows) platform. See the Multichannel CRM JavaScript Library for more information.

Overriding the Default CRM Rendition Setting for Auto-Publishing (Previously Single-Doc Publishing)

Content creators can override the default rendition setting for a document type and file type by populating the CRM Rendition Override (crm_rendition_override__v) field when creating a document in Vault. After the content creator saves the document, Vault generates a distribution package based on the selected rendition setting, instead of the default. See CRM Rendition Overrides in Vault Help for more information about the CRM Rendition Override field.

Consent Capture

Capturing Consent Using Confirmation Emails for All Channels

To capture consent when users are unable to meet HCPs face-to-face, users can send confirmation emails to confirm opt-in consent for any channel, including custom channels.

Additional Step for Consent Confirmation Emails

To prevent the recipient’s systems from unintentionally confirming opt-in consent for an HCP, admins can configure an additional confirmation step for HCPs before they confirm their consent. Customers define the content displayed for the additional step.

Engage Connect

Engage Connect in Veeva CRM (Available December 16, 2021)

Engage Connect is an asynchronous messaging platform providing a communication and networking channel between users and HCPs. With Engage Connect, users and HCPs can connect, chat, exchange approved content, request samples, and coordinate meetings all within a single platform, providing greater engagement with HCPs.

Engage Meeting

Capturing Remote Signatures for Sampling with QR Codes (Available December 16, 2021)

QR code signature capture enables CRM users and HCPs to maintain physical distance and eliminates the need to share devices during face-to-face visits. CRM users generate a QR code from the call report. HCPs scan the QR code to display a signature capture screen, then provide a signature from their own device.

Events Management

Using Event Type-Specific Disclaimers

To increase compliance and enhance flexibility, admins can define Event Type-specific disclaimer text. When attendees sign into an event, defined restrictions, actions, and data reporting must be communicated to attendees for compliance reasons. Depending on local regulations, certain event types may have different compliance requirements.

Medical

Key Medical Insights now on iPhone

Key Medical Insights is now available on iPhone. Key Medical Insights are important in the current market and are therefore valuable to Medical Affairs personnel. This information can be captured and organized using the Medical_Insight_vod object.

Key Medical Insights for Lightning (Available December 16, 2021)

Key Medical Insights is now enabled as a Lightning native component for users with Lightning Ready orgs. A Key Medical Insight contains information gained by Medical users from publications, conferences, or talking with peers, for example.

Mobile Device Setup

Managing Tab Visibility and Display Order

To customize Veeva CRM for users’ workflows and streamline navigation, admins can reorder or remove visibility to tabs on the navigation bar. This functionality includes the option to display My Cycle Plan, Suggestions, and My Tasks on the navigation bar, so iPad users can quickly navigate to those tabs without returning to the home page.

MyInsights

Managing MyInsights Visibility for Accounts

Admins can control whether or not MyInsights content displays for a specific account. This ensures content only displays when the necessary data is available.

MyInsights Studio

The following features will be available on December 16, 2021:

Supporting the Date/Time Field Type

MyInsights Studio supports the Date/Time field type, allowing users to add data with Date/Time values and perform calculations with Date/Time expressions.

Using the Now Data Element

Users can use the Now data element to get the current date and time, which can then be incorporated into other data and display element as a Date/Time value.

Improved Trend Chart Display Element

Users can select the 'I have multiple series of data' check box to define and display multiple trends from the same data source on the same trend chart.

New Videos

The following videos were added as part of this release:

User Visible and Behavior Changes
