Release Notes
The following items are now available:
Announcements
Release Versioning
Beginning with 20R2, Veeva CRM is adopting new release versioning for maintenance and hotfix communications. See Release Numbering for more information.
Engage Passwords
After August 2020 (20R2 release), all new meetings scheduled must use passwords. Veeva recommends rescheduling meetings without passwords to increase security. To prepare for this, admins must ensure that meeting hosts and booking agents have FLS edit permission to the Meeting_Password_vod field on the Remote_Meeting_vod object.
If customers are using Approved Email to send Engage invitations, invitation templates should be updated to reference the Meeting_Password_vod field on the Remote_Meeting_vod object.
After the 20R2 Sandbox Release (July 30, 2020), all newly created user groups will have password protection automatically enabled. Admins cannot disable this.
After the 20R2 Production Release (August 13, 2020), all existing user groups will be automatically updated to enable password protection. Admins cannot disable this.
If admins enable password protection for an existing user group between the Sandbox and Production Releases, they cannot disable it.
See Enabling Passwords for Engage for more information about using password-protected meetings.
Supporting Vault Standard Metrics Fields
In 20R2, Vault PromoMats and MedComms are adding three new fields on all documents:
- global_content_type__v
- content_creation_currency__v
- content_creation_cost__v
To ensure V2V copy, CLM conversion, and the BEE Editor continue to function properly, CRM supports the new field mappings and populates these fields with Vault-defined default values if they are empty.
CLM Content Rendering on iOS - UIWebView Support Ending in 20R2
Beginning with the 20R2 release, planned for August 2020, Veeva CRM will exclusively support the WKWebView rendering engine for CLM content. Support for the legacy UIWebView rendering engine will be removed from Veeva CRM at this time. As a result, all CLM content will render using WKWebView with the release of 20R2.
Apple introduced WKWebView to fix security flaws in UIWebView and to improve performance. However, as a side effect, there may be slight impacts to content rendering that may require content updates. Veeva recommends customers and their content partners test all CLM content prior to the 20R2 release.
Test your CLM content in your 20R2 sandbox org.
Apple may officially remove UIWebView before the Veeva CRM 20R2 release. In this case, all CLM content will automatically use WKWebView.
