What's New in CRM 20R1.3 (201.12.0)

The CRM 20R1.3 (201.12.0) release includes several new features as well as User Visible and Behavior Changes.

Features

Features are new functionality in the Veeva application.

Call Reporting

Call Channel Attributes

The Call Channel attribute allows a user to specify the method of communication used for a call. Traditionally, users and HCPs met only face to face, but there are alternative methods of communicating with HCPs, for example, phone calls, video calls, emails, and text messages. Knowing how an HCP and user connect allows customers to better understand how methods of communication are used to optimize a customer’s experience.

Using Barcodes to Record Call Samples

End users can use the barcode on a sample’s packaging to simplify the sampling process by using their device’s camera to scan the barcode. This enables easier and more compliant sampling, as well as more accurate identification and tracking of samples.

Consent Capture

Capturing Email Consent with Implicit Default Consent

Customers can use double opt-in and capture consent using confirmation emails for accounts with implicit default consent. This provides flexibility to users when capturing consent from HCPs who previously opted out of email channels. Users can choose to capture signatures or send confirmation emails to confirm consent depending on which method best suits the setting.

Engage Meeting

Capturing Remote Signatures for a Medical Inquiry in Engage Meeting

Customers can capture an HCP's signature before submitting a Medical Inquiry even though the transaction is remote. Requiring an HCP to review and acknowledge the Medical Inquiry content can reduce or eliminate inaccurate requests.

Events Management

Associating an Account with an Event

Events Management end users often host small events that prompt interactions with attendees warranting a call report, for example, a request for a sample or a Medical Inquiry. When an account is associated with an event, call reports created from the event inherit information from the event. This simplifies the call report creation process by enabling the end user to avoid entering duplicate information. Additionally, associating an account with an event simplifies the event planning process by filtering the list of available attendees to only display attendees associated with the account.

Integrating Cvent with Events Management

Cvent is an event planning company providing customers tools and support needed to plan, market, and execute large, full-service events. Now, administrators can integrate Cvent with Veeva CRM Events Management to help Event Owners plan and execute large events via Cvent directly within CRM.

Events submitted to Cvent generate Meeting Requests with information from the event automatically populated. Cvent administrators can review the generated Meeting Request Form to determine if the event can proceed and use Cvent’s tools to plan and execute the event.

Medical

Medical Inquiry on iPhone

Users can now create a Medical Inquiry on iPhone. This allows users to also capture and audit signatures for a medical inquiry.

MyInsights

Sharing MyInsights Content

Users can share MyInsights content using iOS share actions. This allows users to share information from customized content with people who do not have access to Veeva CRM. Users can share any content available on their devices, including order and inventory monitoring content on iPad devices. MyInsights content is shared as PDFs. Additionally, users on devices with iOS13 or later can take full page PDF screenshots.

User Visible and Behavior Changes

Most new features require some configuration, however users are able to view the following changes immediately:

General

  • iPad: Previously, users could only upload photos as attachments. Now, users can also upload documents anywhere attachments are enabled, except for inventory monitoring. If the Don’t allow HTML uploads as attachments or document records Salesforce security setting is enabled, the following document types cannot be uploaded:

  • .svg

  • iPad: Popup messages that use the END_MEETING_WARNING Veeva message to warn users that a meeting will end for all participants now display the text “Do you want to end the meeting for all participants?”
  • iPad: The background for Edit screens is now black. When selecting edit, the page flips to the right to display the edit screen. When exiting the edit screen, the page flips to the left.

Accounts

  • Online: When creating an account using the Parent Account Wizard that requires a DCR, users can now select only one address for the account.

Call Reporting

  • iPad, Windows: None is no longer an available option from the Territory picklist.

Call Sampling

  • Online: Help text is now visible when selecting the Help icon for fields on the Call Report.

Engage Meeting

  • The data model for Rating an Engage Experience is included in this release in preparation for the upcoming feature.
  • When an iPhone user selects the join link, they are prompted to download the app before joining if they do not have the app installed. (Added 7/9/2020)

Medical CRM

  • Online: Key Medical Insight records now sort in descending order by default on the Medical_Insights_vod VisualForce page.
  • iPad: Key Medical Insight records now sort in descending order by default.

Order Management

  • iPad: When users save a date/time field on an order, the seconds are cleared.

Remote Sampling

  • iPad: The signature icon now displays next to the Remote Sign and In Person Sign actions in the More Actions options on the Remote Sampling page.
