Salesforce.com Standard Fields

Salesforce.com standard fields are used by the Salesforce platform. These fields cannot be deleted or renamed, and their data types cannot be changed. Field labels can be modified, and the fields can be removed from or added to other page layouts. They can be hidden from certain users using Field Level Security.

An example of a Salesforce.com Standard field label is Account Name and the corresponding field name is Name. There are no suffixes on the field name.
