Configuring Engage Meeting

Initial configuration includes the setup of all default functionality for Engage. Some functionality requires additional configuration.

General Setup

To configure Engage:

  1. Ensure the appropriate org has Engage licenses provisioned.
  2. Grant admins the following permissions:

  3. Grant admins access to the Remote_Meetings_Admin_vod Visualforce page.
  4. Grant admins tab visibility to the Engage Meeting Administration tab.
  5. Grant meeting hosts the following permissions:

  6. Grant CRM users who can view remote meeting calls the following permissions:

    * In the future, this field will be required for scheduling an Engage meeting and will allow for Engage attendance information enhancements.

  7. Add the --rem section signal to the Call2_vod object page layouts used for Engage meetings.

    Do not add the --rem section signal to the zvod_buttons section. The remote meeting controls will not display on the Call page.

  8. Add the Meeting_Name_vod field to the Remote_Meeting_vod page layout. This step is optional and enables iPad hosts to edit the meeting name.
  9. Enable the appropriate VMOCs for the Remote_Meeting_vod object.

Assigning Engage Licenses

Engage Group Assignment is controlled via the User object. See Engage Group Management for more information.

Enabling iPad Hosting

To enable hosting Engage meetings on the iPad, activate VMOCs for the Remote_Meeting_vod object with the following attributes:

  • Device = iPad_vod
  • Type = Full Sync

Enabling Desktop Hosting

Engage meetings can be hosted Windows desktops using the CRM Desktop (Windows) app. Specific configuration is required for this app.

To enable desktop users to host Engage meetings:

  1. Navigate to the Engage Meeting Administration tab.
  2. Create or identify a meeting group to represent Online hosts.
  3. Enable the Remote Meeting Start from CRM Online Group Permission. See Group Meeting Permissions for more information.
  4. Grant meeting hosts access to the Remote_Meeting_Host_App_Install_vod Visualforce page.
  5. Add the Veeva CRM Desktop home page component to the applicable home page layouts.
  6. Ensure the following servers are allowed:

    • https://engage.veeva.com/
    • https://engage.veevasfa.cn/
    • https://hcp-app-us.veevacrm.com/

Disabling Desktop Sharing

Hosts using the CRM Desktop (Windows) platform are able to share their desktop by default. To disable Online desktop sharing, enable the Start Meeting from CRM Online – Disable Desktop Sharing Group Meeting Permission for the appropriate Meeting Group.
