Adding a New Address

Users can create a new address for an account directly from a call report, making it easier for users to record call activities and keep account information up to date.

For example, Sarah Jones meets with Dr. Ackerman at a new practice, rather than at his usual Newton Memorial Hospital address. She adds the new address from the call report, records the rest of the call information, and then saves the call report. The new address is now associated with Clinton's account and displays on the Account Details page.

Users must enter at least one line of text to save the address.

Address validation rules are not supported when creating new addresses from the call report.

Hiding the Add a New Address Option

The following configurations can be used to manage visibility of the Add New Address option:

  • Remove Create privileges on the Address object for a user’s profile. The option to add a new address will not appear in the Address field if the user does not have Create privileges.
  • Place one or both of the following section signals in the section that contains the Address_vod field, in order to control the ability to create new addresses by call page layout and account type:
    • --nap - Prevents the Add New Address option from displaying in the picklist for person accounts
    • --nab- Prevents the Add New Address option from displaying in the picklist for business accounts
