CLM Publishing from PromoMats/MedComms

CLM Publishing from PromoMats/MedComms provides an efficient way to publish CLM presentations to Veeva CRM. This method automatically generates presentations and their individual slides from PowerPoint, Word, and PDF source documents in the PromoMats or Medical Vault, streamlining presentation management and synchronization. Content creators can edit individual slides and compare changes side-by-side in a comparison view while maintaining full publishing automation.

Who can use this feature?

Configuring CLM Publishing from PromoMats/MedComms for Content Creators

To configure this feature:

  1. Ensure Integrating CRM and Vault for CLM is complete.
  2. Select the Enable CLM Publishing setting in CRM Rendition Settings for the Vault.

To sync CLM presentations using CLM Publishing, the Connection Type must be set to either Binder and Slides or All.

Using CLM Publishing from PromoMats/MedComms as Content Creators

When the CLM Publishing setting is enabled in CRM Rendition Settings, new documents and new versions of documents automatically start generating Multichannel Presentations and Multichannel Slides. Multichannel Presentations and Multichannel Slides generated using the CLM Publishing method in PromoMats/MedComms are synced to Veeva CRM through the Vault to Vault Connection.

Migrating Existing Presentations as Content Creators

To migrate existing auto-published presentations to CLM Publishing:

  1. Select a batch of up to 1,000 existing auto-published presentation documents. This ensures successful processing for the batch.
  2. Set the Publish to Veeva CRM (CLM) flag to False.
  3. Save the document properties.
  4. Set the Publish to Veeva CRM (CLM) flag back to True.
  5. Allow processing to finish and Binders and Slides to generate before starting the next batch.

Considerations for Migrating CLM Presentations

  • After Binders and Slides are generated, they are synced to Vault CRM as new records. The previous records created from auto-published presentations are expired, similar to the process that occurs when updating an auto-published presentation using the Create New Slides method.

Slides used in Custom Presentations will be removed from the presentation. Content creators need to re-add the newly created slides.

  • Binders and Slides generated using CLM Publishing are supported in the same way as Binders and Slides created manually or through the Create Presentation action, with one exception: when using Send CLM as Weblinks, file downloads are not supported for Binder and Slide presentations.
