Using the Product Identifier to Search

The Product Name is not the only attribute by which Products can be identified. The Product identifier is an additional way to search for and identify Products. This text field on the Product_vod object is customer-defined.

Users can search for Kits by Kit header product identifier but not by Kit item.

Enabling the Product Identifier

Place the Product_Identifier_vod field on the appropriate Product_vod object page layout.

Using the Product Identifier

Product selection is facilitated by offering the option to Search and Display products either by name or Product Identifier in three places of the application:

• Order Lines
• Inventory Monitoring Lines
• Contract Lines

The Product Identifier is visible on the Order Management entry screen on hand-held devices.
