Testing Veeva Engage in Sandboxes

  • Browser (Classic)
  • Browser (Lightning)
  • iPhone
  • Android

Admins can test Veeva Engage features, including joining Engage Meetings, by downloading the Veeva Engage mobile app or accessing the Engage Web Client in a sandbox org. This enables admins to test new Engage features and review data in a separate environment that does not affect the corresponding production org.

Admins can test Veeva Engage in sandboxes while being signed in after signing up, or while being signed out of Veeva Engage.

Considerations

  • Engage Meeting links generated in CRM sandbox environments automatically generate as Veeva Engage sandbox links

Testing Without Signing in

To test Veeva Engage in sandboxes without signing in:

  1. Select the Engage Meeting link to display the Meeting Registration screen.
  2. Enter the appropriate First and Last Name.
  3. Select Join Meeting.

Testing on mobile devices requires the Veeva Engage app. If the admin selects an Engage Meeting link in CRM and does not have the app installed, a landing page prompts them to install the app.

Testing While Signed into Veeva Engage

To test Veeva Engage while signed in, select the appropriate Engage Meeting link from the sandbox CRM org to either open the app or launch the web client and join the meeting.

Admins cannot be signed into Veeva Engage production on the mobile app when testing sandbox meeting links. If admins select a sandbox Engage Meeting link while signed into Veeva Engage production, a message displays informing them they must sign into the app with a sandbox email address.

If admins have not already done so, they must sign up for sandbox Veeva Engage on the appropriate platform using one of the two following processes.

Signing up on the Mobile App

To sign up for testing sandbox Engage features on the mobile app:

Before signing in, you must install the Engage app from the App store or Google Playstore. Once installed:

  1. Launch the app.
  2. Select Sign Up or Sign In.
  3. Enter the appropriate email address and add .sandbox to the end.

For example, if the email address is your.name@mail.com, enter your.name@mail.com.sandbox for the email address.

If .sandbox is not added to the end of the email address, the user will be signed into the production environment rather and will not be able to test sandbox Engage Meeting links.

  4. Select Continue.
  5. Navigate to the entered email address’s inbox to retrieve the 6-digit verification code. This email will have a subject line of Veeva Engage Email Verification and a sender of Veeva Engage (SANDBOX).
  6. Navigate back to the Engage Web Client.
  7. Enter the 6-digit verification code and select Verify.
  8. Enter the appropriate First and Last Names.
  9. Select Create Account.

Signing up on the Web Client

To sign up for testing sandbox Engage features on the Engage Web Client:

  1. Navigate to https://sandbox.veevaengage.com.
  2. Select Sign Up or Sign In.

  3. Enter the appropriate email address.

Unlike signing up on the mobile app, do not add .sandbox to the end of the email address.

  4. Select Continue.
  5. Open a new tab.
  6. Navigate to the entered email address’s inbox to retrieve the 6-digit verification code. This email will have a subject line of Veeva Engage Email Verification and a sender of Veeva Engage (SANDBOX).
  7. Navigate back to the Engage Web Client.
  8. Enter the 6-digit verification code and select Verify.
  9. Enter the appropriate First and Last Names.
  10. Select Create Account.

Checking the Environment of Veeva Engage

The Veeva Engage sandbox environment has an identical UI to the production environment. Admins can check the current environment via one of the following methods:

  • On the mobile app, navigate to the bottom of the Me tab. If the environment is a sandbox, it displays sandbox.veevaengage.com beneath the version number.

  • On the web client, if the environment is a sandbox, the URL displays sandbox.veevaengage.com
