State License Information in Account Wizards

State License information is used in call sampling to validate whether a person is permitted to legally practice medicine. It can be captured when creating a new Person Account using the Account Wizards.

Configuring State License Information in Account Wizards

To enable this feature, add the License_vod and License_Expiration_Date_vod fields on the Address_vod object to the page layout assigned to the user's profile.

Using State License Information in Account Wizards

When saving, the License field values are captured on the Primary address for the new account and the License Status Field is set to New.

When creating a new Account using the Parent Account Wizard or the New Record Type Wizard, the following behavior also applies:

  • For US addresses, the License field values are saved to any other addresses selected from the address list where the License Valid to Sample Field is Valid, and the state is the same as the designated Primary Address for the new account
  • For Canadian addresses, the License field values are saved to any other addresses selected from the address list where the License Valid to Sample field is set to Valid, and the country is the same as the designated Primary Address for the new account
  • If no address is selected for the same state or country as the designated Primary Address, the license fields will not populate after saving the address to the new account

You can exclude a Record Type from the capture of State License Information by including the Record Type name in the NEW_ACCOUNT_TYPES_DISABLE_LICENSE_INFO Veeva Message. If the Record Type is included in the NEW_ACCOUNT_TYPES_DISABLE_LICENSE_INFO Veeva Message, the License Information section heading, the License #, and the License Expiration Date fields will not display in the New Account Wizard and Parent Account Wizard pages.
