Preventing Email Activity from Displaying on the Timeline
Certain users are prohibited from viewing the activity of email recipients. To allow these users to access the benefits of the Sent Email component on the Timeline while remaining compliant, admins can restrict permission and visibility to email activity.
For example, Sarah Jones is the senior sales representative on Dr. Clinton Ackerman’s account. She is training new associate sales representative, Mark Meadows. While Sarah is allowed to view the email activity on Dr. Ackerman’s account, Mark’s access is restricted until he completes his probationary period.
Configuring Email Activity on the Timeline
To enable this feature:
- Remove Read access to the Email_Activity_vod object.
- Deactivate the VMOC for the Email_Activity_vod object.
Using Email Activity on the Account Timeline
When this feature is enabled, the Sent Email component on the Timeline displays without email activities. If users have the required permissions, the View Email link remains available.
